1995 was Benetton’s one and only Constructors’ Championship win. The team, owned by the fashion brand Benetton, was seen as a true underdog against the sport’s established automotive giants.

Schumacher took 9 wins over the course of the season, more than anyone else, including a dominant drive at Spa in the wet where he controlled the race from start to finish. With strong competition from Damon Hill and Williams throughout the year, it was one of the most hard-fought seasons of the 1990s, where small mistakes and key strategic calls made a big difference.

It also marked Benetton’s peak in Formula 1, as Schumacher’s consistency and results helped carry the team to the top. He ultimately secured his second Drivers’ Championship, confirming his place at the top of the sport before moving to Ferrari the following year in 1996.
